ILOILO City – To further promote regenerative organic agriculture, Negros Occidental is set to hold the 11th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival (NIOFF) from Nov. 15 to 19.
According to agriculturist Dinza Genzola, the 5-day event will be a venue for industry stakeholders and members to create and strengthen their network.
“Regeneration is vital in maintaining a resilient industry by one, protecting and improving our resources,” Genzola said.
Themed “Getting Connected Through Regenerative Organic Agriculture,” the event will gather organic agriculture advocates, farmers, consumers stakeholders and entrepreneurs.
Organizers furthermore disclosed that they have invited Sen. Cynthia Villar, Department of Agriculture secretary Emmanuel Piñol, and Undersecretary Evelyn Laviña.
The NIOFF will showcase exhibits of organic products, and sustainable innovations and technologies practiced by various farmer-producers and advocates. (With a report from PNA/PN)
