SILAY CITY, Negros Occidental – Negrense volleyball players showcased their wares in the start of the 2nd Negros Volleyball Federation-NOCSF Age Group Volleyball Tournament held here.
In the U-18 girls division, JGM Dreams Foundation-A defeated the squads from the University of St. La Salle (USLS) and Trinity Christian School (TCS), while the JGM Dreams Foundation-B edged E.B. Magalona.
St. John’s Institute-Bacolod (SJI), on the other hand, cruised to a straight set victory over Victorias, while Cadiz walloped the Colegio San Nicolas de Tolentino-Recoletos (CSNT-R) in two sets.
In the U-18 boys, Victorias defeated USLS and STA-B, while USLS was also beaten by the Cadiz squad. CSNT-R also suffered twin defeats at the hands of Luisa Medel and Silay. The Power Tippers swept Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI), Talisay tripped STA-B and STI-West Negros University dropped STA-A.
In the U-15 girls, JGM Dreams Foundation defeated TCS, USLS edged Silay in three sets, SCSS/FMT dominated La Carlota in two sets, while SJI manhandled SBS.
With the U-15 boys, on the other hand, STA ousted SBS and Silay, La Carlota defeated Frfes, SBS defeated DBTI and Frfes notched its first win against DBTI.
Meanwhile, in the U-13 girls, Talisay defeated STI-WNU, SJI cruised past DBTI, USLS edged STA and TCS prevailed over Silay. The Silay squad defeated LES-VT in the boy’s category.
In the 30-and-up, Silay B swept Tribu Pula, Diwati Prints defeated Silver Core Builders, Silay slammed Nonzie’s Apparel and Silay A edged Bacolod, while in the 30-and-under, Nonzie’s Apparel defeated Volleylife./PN
