BACOLOD City – The Department of Health (DOH) downgraded the risk classification of Negros Occidental to Alert Level 3, while this highly-urbanized city remained at Alert Level 4.
Areas under Alert Level 3 are those with high case count of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), with increasing health care utilization, regardless of the Delta variant presence, while those under Alert Level 4 have high case count and high healthcare utilization rate (HCUR).
As of Oct. 10, the HCUR of Negros Occidental was at 53.85 percent, and Bacolod at 75.90, said Dr. Marie Jocelyn Te of DOH-6.
Moreover, both the province and city noted a two-week reduction in COVID-19 growth cases, and slight decline in the Average Daily Attack Rate (ADAR) per 100,000 population.
Negros Occidental recorded 8.12 percent ADAR, while Bacolod logged 22.50 percent.
As of Oct. 10, the Provincial Incident Management Team recorded 4,313 active coronavirus cases in Negros Occidental.
Bacolod City, meanwhile, had 2,109 active COVID-19 cases./PN
