BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Negros Occidental is expected to deliberate the P49-billion proposed 2023 budget for the province next week.
Acting governor Jeffrey Ferrer said they already have a schedule for the deliberation and it has already been referred to the SP’s committee on finance.
Ferrer added that board member Romel Debulgado had already been told to follow the timeline every year when it comes to the approval of the budget.
The proposed 2023 provincial budget is expected to be approved by the first week of December, and the scheduled hearing for the department heads should also begin next week.
Ferrer said Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson proposed deliberating the budget with a focus on the development of the province.
Next year’s budget is lower by 12.7 percent compared to P5.7 billion budget for 2022./PN
