BACOLOD City – Barely three months after assuming the post, Negros Oriental’s Gov. Jorge Carlo Joan “Guido” Reyes passed away yesterday morning.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Karen Molas said Reyes passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Metro Manila.
Molas did not disclose Reyes’ cause of death, as the family has requested privacy.
The governor has been battling a terminal illness even before he assumed the post in March following the assassination of the late Gov. Roel Degamo.
Yesterday afternoon, Negros Oriental Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio administered the oath-taking of Vice Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria as the next governor./PN
