BACOLOD City – Negros Oriental 3rd District’s Cong. Arnulfo Teves is offering a P1-million reward to whoever could give information that would lead to the arrest of the killers of his driver, Juvanie Catubay.
Catubay was gunned down on Monday, Nov. 28, in the town of Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental by two riding-in-tandem suspects.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Teves condemned Catubay’s murder and called on the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOrPPO) to swiftly resolve the case.
He also questioned how the gunmen were able to acquire a high-powered rifle.
NOrPPO director, Police Colonel Reynaldo Lizardo, meanwhile, said it remains unclear what the motive behind the murder was.
Police Regional Office (PRO-7) investigators are assisting the NOrPPO’s ongoing probe.
Aside from killing Catubay, witnesses told the police that the gunmen also took the victim’s motorcycle.
Empty 5.56mm and.45 caliber shells were recovered from the crime scene./PN
