Negrense Aguillon caps Palaro campaign with silver medal

CEBU City – Negrense sprinter Krisha Dedoyco Aguillon capped her campaign in the 2024 Palarong Pambansa with a silver medal over at the Cebu City Sports Complex here.

The Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts standout finished with a silver medal in the secondary girls 4×100-meter relay with Cheska Magpusao, Rhiajane Gardose, and Angel Villagracia.

Prior to that, the Bacolod City-native Aguillon captured her third consecutive Palarong Pambansa secondary girls 100-meter run gold medal after submitting a time of 12.67 seconds.

“I am incredibly grateful to have secured my third consecutive victory in the 100-meter dash at Palarong Pambansa. I owe it all to God for His grace and strength,” Aguillon said in a statement.

“This marks the end of my high school journey, and I look forward to the next chapter representing the blue and white,” added the incoming Ateneo de Manila University athletics team member.

Aguillon concluded her statement by thanking her Bacolod Tay Tung coaches Amado Juguan and Che Guevarra, team manager Jose Montalbo and team therapist Emmanuel Ma.

Meanwhile, Lexi Mikayla Marcella of the San Enrique Central School in Negros Occidental secured her second Palaro gold after ruling the elementary girls table tennis singles event.

Kathyrine D Bugna of Roberto S. Benedicto Elementary School in La Carlota City, meanwhile, bagged a gold in the elementary boys mixed doubles tennis with Anthony Bjorn G Castigador of Central Philippine University.

Negrense athletes also captured a silver medal in the secondary boys singles badminton event courtesy of Lovic Javier of the Dr. Vicente F. Gustilo Memorial National High School in Cadiz City.

Yannika Jayden V Balista of Cadiz West Ii Elementary School and Cris Ivan R Dosano of Dr. Vicente F Gustillo, meanwhile, captured a bronze mdal in elementary girls and secondary boys tennis events./PN
