Negrense boxer Carlo Caesar Peñalosa is
determined to score a victory after suffering two straight setbacks.
Putting the entire Luzon under enhanced community quarantine due to the
coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak is definitely not an excuse for
him to stop punching the bags every day.
The 26-year old Peñalosa told Philboxing.com that he does skipping rope,
circuit and shadow boxing to keep in shape while staying in the house of his
coach Jonathan Peñalosa in Quezon City.
“I don’t have proper practice because of this lockdown. My training is only through exercise in this house,” said Peñalosa, who currently has 14 wins (7 KOs), two defeats and a draw.
The San Carlos City, Negros Occidental-native Peñalosa brawled for a draw with Alphoe Dagayloan in the Philippine Games and Amusements Board flyweight title last February.
Prior to that, Peñalosa suffered a technical decision defeat against Mexican fighter Maximino Flores for the IBO world flyweight championship in August last year.
The Negrense is hoping to land a fight when the COVID-19 is over.
Peñalosa’s boxing career is being handled by his uncle and former boxing world champion Geronimo “Gerry” Peñalosa of GerryPens Boxing Promotion.

A collegiate basketball head coach from a Manila- based school showed that he is not tolerating hardheaded players from his team.
A source told the Buzzer Beater that the head coach did not hesitate to dismiss one of his players just before the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
Buzzer Beater tried to ask the source what certain violation led to the immediate dismissal of the player. However, the source requested to keep it off the record./PN
