MANILA – Negrense boxer Rolando Servania needed just one round to dispose compatriot Jerry Pabila and capture the WBC Asia Boxing Council Youth super bantamweight belt at the Polomolok Gym in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
It was the first professional boxing title of the Bacolod City native since he first stepped on the ring in 2013. He also registered his third straight win this year.
Servania, younger brother of boxer Genesis Servania, immediately went to work as the opening bell sounded. He pounded and floored Pabila with consecutive combinations to easily win the title bout.
With the victory, the 23-year-old Servania maintained his untarnished record of 10-0-0 while also nabbing his fourth stoppage win.
Pabila, on the other hand, dropped his record to 6-2-0 with four knockout wins.
San Carlos City native Elmer Colve, meanwhile, did not push through with his bout against John Vincent Moralde in the undercard of the fight card by the Sanman Promotions.
Veteran fighter Jovany Rota (9-17-0, 6 KOs) was instead tapped to replace the Negrense Colve and he was easily defeated by the fast-rising Moralde (22-3-0, 12 KOs) via stoppage./PN
