MANILA – Negrense boxer Genesis Servania’s dream of landing big fights abroad will soon come to reality. He agreed to a multi-year contract with Top Rank Promotions.
Top Rank chairman Bob Arum announced the acquisition of the Negros Occidental fighter, making him the newest Filipino boxer in the fabled stable aside from Manny Pacquiao and IBF super-flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas.
“We’re delighted to sign another great Filipino fighter,” Arum said. “He gave a tremendous fight to featherweight champ Oscar Valdez, and we’re excited to show him to fans in the US and the world.”
Servania, who was previously under the stable of ALA Boxing Promotions, said the move is a dream come true and gives him more motivation to prepare hard for future matches.
““I am very happy. Top Rank is the No.1 boxing promoter in the world,” he said.
Servania vowed to “train even harder to make the most of the great chances and guidance Top Rank will provide.”
The Las Vegas-based boxing promotion, however, has yet to announce the first fight of Servania (30-1, 13 KOs), who came from a tough unanimous decision loss to Valdez, another Top Rank boxer, on September 2017 in Arizona./PN
