MANILA – Negrense Allan Vallespin will once again defend his Philippine Games and Amusements Board super featherweight belt. He battles Glenn Enterina on Aug. 3 at the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.

This will be the third time the Bacolod City native is defending the title since winning it via unanimous decision against Warren Mambuanag in December 2016.

The match will also be an opportunity for Vallespin to get back on track following back-to-back losses in Japan against Musashi Mori in July 2018 and Yoshimitsu Kimura in February 2019.

Just like Vallespin, Enterina will also look to regain his winning form after failing to clinch the IBF Youth lightweight championship against Australian fighter Jacob Ng in March 2019.

The 25-year-old Vallespin will be entering the match with 12-4-0 win-loss-draw ring record, including nine stoppage victories.

The much younger but more experienced Medura, for his part, is staking his 14-5-1 slate, with nine victories coming by way of stoppages.

In the main event, Filipino boxer Alvin Medura will vie for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental super bantamweight belt as he battles Japanese Mugicha Nakagawa./PN
