Negrense boxer Villafuerte KOs foe in Passi City boxing

ILOILO – Negrense boxer Danny Villafuerte kept his unbeaten slate with a fifth round technical knockout of Christian Capuno in the “ALA on Tour: Bakbakan sa Passi” fight card at the City of Passi Arena.

The Hinobaan-native Villafuerte took time before getting his bearings going and pummel Capuno with combinations midway in the fifth round.

With the victory, Villafuerte improved his record to 3-0-0, all of which via stoppages, while the Bukidnon-native Capuno suffered his first loss to drop to 2-1-0 win-loss-draw card.


Meanwhile, the Mabinay-native Romnick Magos continued his slump. He suffered a fourth round technical knockout defeat to Filipino-Japanese fighter Go Hosaka.


It was the fifth consecutive defeat of the 28-year-old Magos to slid down to 12-10-0, with seven stoppage wins, while Hosaka maintained his unbeaten run to 3-0-0, with two KO wins.


In other results, Kevin Jake Cataraja notched his 10th victory in as many matches with a third round stoppage win over Delfin de Asis, while Christian Bacolod halted Garry Rojo in two round.


Regie Suganob cruised to a unanimous decision victory over Kier Torregosa, while Arvin Sampaga escaped with a majority decision win over Arce Baranggan.
