Negrense Charcos joins Bacolod Sardines in MPBL

MANILA – Negrense guard Edgar Charcos is set to bolster the Bacolod Master Sardines as the team fights for a playoff spot in the 2019-2020 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup.

The La Carlota, Negros Occidental native will serve as one of the homegrown players of the Bacolod City-based basketball team being mentored by Vic Ycasiano.

Other homegrown players of the Master Sardines are Bacolodnons Nico Paolo Javelona and Mark Dela Cruz and Negrense Spencer Pretta.

Prior to his move, Charcos have played for Sun Yat Sen High School in Iloilo before suiting up with University of the East and University of Perpetual Help Altas in UAAP and NCAA, respectively.

Charcos also participated during the recent PBA Rookie Draft but was not selected by any of the 12 teams.

The Master Sardines currently has 8-16 win-loss record, which is 4.5 games behind the eighth place in the standings./PN
