FIFTY-ONE Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries recently received Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) and were installed as new landowners in Barangay Abo-abo, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary, Atty. Bro. John R. Castriciones administered the CLOA distribution and ARB installation activity.
“At long last, you are now the owners of the land you have been tilling for years. We hope that all our efforts to help you achieve this milestone will not be put in vain. May we remind you to be responsible of the land awarded to you,” said Castriciones.
Also present in the activity was DAR-6 Director Atty. Sheila B. Enciso who reminded the ARBs to avoid illegal activities such as entering the “Ariendo System.”
“Here in Western Visayas, DAR has been pro-active in order to give you the best service. May you help us help you in sustaining what we have accomplished. May this big event inspire you to give importance to the land awarded to you through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP),” said Enciso.
The 48.5136-hectare landholdings were formerly owned by Rio Baldomero Jr. and others, with title numbers T-34572, T-276410, and T-34574, covered by Lot 153-B, Lot 153-A, and Lot 153-D, in Barangay Abo-abo, Murcia.
The activity was anchored to DAR’s mandate in giving lands to landless farmers, defending their rights, and providing them with essential support services in order to ensure their agricultural productivity and economic sustainability./PN
