MANILA – Negrense and Ilonggo taekwondo jins dominated the recently held 2021 MVPSF/Smart Online National New Face of the Year Speed Kicking Taekwondo Championship.

Taekwondo jins from Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen have shown their fine form in the online tournament. The team bagged 14 gold, two silver, and five bronze medals.

Winning gold medals in the cadet category were: Alyana Kate Urbano, Cipriano Lumanog, Cydric Johnrod Rojas, Gadiel Estor, Jared Jed Sevilleno, Jerik Joseph Paiwas, Manuel Eduardo Machado III, and Wynnona Kiarra Chavez.

Cyrah Marie Rojas, Prince Fiel De Las Alas, Jaden Uriel Barroquillo, and Paulo Lopez harvest gold medals in the grade school category. In the toddler and juniors category, Cypher Daniel Rojas and Ianne Rose Treyes garnered gold medals, respectively.

The Negros Occidental-based taekwondo stable had two silver medals winners in Julian Ignatius Sabay and Josh Nathaniel Montessino, both in gradeschool category.

Negros Taekwondo Union captured bronze medals from cadets Francine Launio and Kenjie Aunzo; Diego Cristales in gradeschool; Niexa Ferrer in toddler; and Christelle Therese Avancena in juniors.

Taekwondo jins from the Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym, meanwhile, are not left behind as they garnered eight gold, six silvers, and five bronze medals in the competition sanctioned by the Philippine Taekwondo Association.

Jeremiah Miguel Ong, Denzel Espadilla, Adrian Joseph Gajasan III, Eujean Ivanka Castete, Eduardo Adenic III, Sheine Nicole De Asis, Josh Karl Macahilig, and Alicia Sophia Gutierrez have won gold medals.

Taking home silver medals for the Iloilo City-based taekwondo stable were De Asis, Pearl Danielle Rosales, Francheska Isobelle Dunton, Alexis Araneta, and Shanen Anica Feranco.

Moreover, Ong, Adenic, Araneta, Gabrielle Dominic Capadosa, and Akimeh Demavivas took home bronze medals./PN
