MANILA – Negrense Jeffrey Manday will kick off his professional basketball player career as part of San Miguel Beermen’s 3×3 squad in the soon-to-be-launched Philippine Basketball Association 3×3 tournament.

Last week, this former standout of Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Titans inked a short-term deal with the Beermen. He was the only rookie to be given a contract by the management.

Manday expressed his gratitude to the Beermen for allowing him to showcase his talent. He said: I did not expect it since ‘yung mga fellow rookies ay mas matatangkad at malalaki sa akin kaya sobrang thankful ako sa management,” Manday told Panay News on Monday.

“There is no problem with me kung sa 3×3 team muna ako ilalagay kasi exposure rin ito para sa akin. Sabi nga ng coaches, mas magagamit ako sa 3×3 kaysa sa limahan since loaded ang lineup,” he continued.

At the Beermen’s 3×3 team, the Negrense cager will team up with former Blackwater Elite guard Raymond Austria, former De La Salle University Green Archers forward James Mangahas, and Paul Gulfo. Ilonggo Boycie Zamar will serve as the head coach.

Manday further said that he will use his inclusion in the team to improve further as he strives to make it to SMB’s regular squad in the coming season.

He also thanked his former team, the Titans, its owners, Ramon Paolo Cruz, Paul Oliver Cruz, and backer Rigpoint for playing a vital role in his development as a player./PN
