NEGRENSE pair Alexa Polidario and Erjane Magdato captured the gold medal in the 2018 Beach Volleyball Republic on Tour at the Beach Placid Resort in Bantayan Island, Cebu.

Polidario and Magdato of University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos (UNO-R) 1 claimed the women’s category title on Sunday after stunning the Team Wakanda pair of Angelique Gervacio and Kassie Gormley.

Bianca Lizares and Jennifer Cosas of Team Bacolod, meanwhile, salvaged the bronze medal after defeating Jen Manzano and Coyah Abanto of Philippine Air Force 1.

Polidario and Magdato took home P50,000 cash each. Gervacio Gormley received P30,000 each, and while Lizares and Cosas, P20,000 each.

Other Western Visayas-based teams in the women’s category are Sheryl Laborte and Ruby Casiple of St. John’s Institute-Bacolod and Jennymar Senares and Ann Gabales of University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos 2.

In the men’s category, Simon Aguillon and Roelene Inaudito of Team Bacolod settled for fourth place, losing to Jessie Lopez and Ranran Abdilla of Philippine Air Force, which landed third.

Jade Becaldo and Calvin Sarte of Ato ni Bai claimed the title after defeating Kevin Juban and Raphy Abanto of University of Visayas./PN
