MANILA – San Beda Sea Lions continued its dominance in the NCAA men’sswimming event after ruling the Season 92 competition at the RizalMemorial Swimming Center in Malate.
Led by Joshua Junsay of Silay City, Negros Occidental, SeaLions tallied 1,467 points in the three-day event to clinch its league-record 15th consecutive men’s swimming championship andleague-best 19th title overall.
Junsay, adjudged the men’s division MVP for the thirdstraight year, topped the 100mand 200m butterfly beforespearheading Jenkins Lorenzo Labao, Joseph Badura and Jason
Villaruz toward the 4x50m freestyle relay gold medal.
College of St. Benilde Blazerswas a distant second with473.5 points, while Arellano University Chiefs finished third with 263 points.
Meanwhile, San Beda Sea Lionesses, led by women’s Rookie of theYear Febbie Mae Porras, completed a five-peat in the women’s swimmingdivision after amassing a total of 1,300 points.
Unlike last year, Sea Lionesses had a wide margin over the secondplacer CSB Lady Blazers, which had a total of 811.5 points, and thirdplacer Emilio Aguinaldo College, which had 221.5.
San Beda Sea Cubs, for its part, took the high school championshipafter gaining 1,037.5 points and unseating CSB Junior Blazers,which reigned supreme for 11 straight seasons before conceding itthis year.
