BACOLOD City – Around 1,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) received mobile phones promised by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte after distributing land titles in Negros Occidental last month.
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) regional director Stephen Leonidas led the distribution of the cellular phones on Monday.
The first batch of recipients includes ARBs from cities of Bacolod, Talisay, Silay, Cadiz, and Sagay including the town of E.B. Magalona.
The President also promised to provide fertilizers to each land titles recipients during his speech in a program held in Sagay City’s Balay Kauswagan last month.
DAR Northern Mindanao regional director Joseph Orilla, who assisted in the delivery of the mobile phones, said the distribution of the remaining mobile phones for other ARBs has been scheduled in the coming days. (With a report from PNA/PN)
