NEGROS Occidental track and field team sees the Iloilo delegation as their biggest threat in the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet 2019 athletics, which will be held at the Villareal Stadium in Roxas City, Capiz.

Head coach Adriana Arca said that, while they are not discounting the tracksters from Antique, Guimaras, Aklan and Capiz, she sees her players from Romanito Maravilla National High School going toe to toe with their Ilonggo rivals.

“In athletics, the rivalry is always between Iloilo and Negros Occidental. We are determined to win the gold medal for the province and represent the region in the Palarong Pambansa,” Arca said.

Among Arca’s athletes in the week-long event were Franzine Alamo, Jennifer Hudierez, Ann Katherine Quitoy, Bernalyn Bejoy, Kate Martinez, Trexie dela Torre, and Kyla Loredo.

Also in Negros’ secondary girls athletics team of Arca, which mostly came from Romanito Maravilla National High School, were Khankhazer Largavista, Julian Pranisa, and Jamela de Asis.

Meanwhile, Bacolod Tay Tung High School had two representatives in track and field in Jade Cordova in the elementary girls category and Hannah Jandra Delotavo in secondary girls event./PN
