MANILA – Negrense boxers Aston Palicte and Renz Rosia are set to slug it out in an eight-round non-title match tonight at the Manila Arena in Manila City.

For the Bago City, Negros Occidental native Palicte, this match serves as his bounce back after losing to Japanese fighter Kazuto Ioka for the WBO world super flyweight belt earlier this year.

This is also Palicte’s second time to battle with a fellow Negrense after slugging it out with Murcia-native Donnie Nietes for WBO world super fly belt two years ago that ended in a draw.

Rosia, who is from Cadiz City, is also hoping to get back on the winning track after suffering a defeat in the hands of Thai boxer Karoon Jarupianlerd in September.

The 28-year-old Palicte will be entering the match with a 25-3-1 win-loss-draw ring record, including 21 stoppages, while the 31-year-old Rosia has 15-9-1 with eight knockout wins./PN
