BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) personnel are getting anti-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines from China’s Sinovac Biotech.

Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, NOCPPO spokesperson, said these vaccines were part of the initial 600,000 doses donated by China to the Philippine government.
The vials will come from the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame, Metro Manila, Donasco said.
The PNP initially inoculated at least 800 of its personnel, particularly those in health services.

PNP chief General Debold Sinas said policemen tasked to assist Department of Health personnel in administering the vaccines were the priority.

Once the Sinovac vaccines arrive, the provincial police’s medical personnel and frontliners will be injected first. The rest of the vaccines will be given to the remaining NOCPPO personnel.
Donasco said they have no idea how many shots have been allocated to the NCPPO, as well as the date of arrival.

Nevertheless, she said they are already in the process of looking for storage facilities in various parts of the province.

On Monday, the national government started to rollout Sinovac vaccines in major government hospitals in Metro Manila.
At least 700 medical staff from participating hospitals were inoculated, with only a few reported to have minor allergic reactions such as rashes and slight dizziness./PN
