Negros Occ. cops on alert for resumption of classes

BACOLOD City – As the opening of classes nears, police personnel in Negros Occidental were ordered to be on alert.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) director Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil said he gave such instruction to his personnel a week before the start of school year 2018-2019.

Classes in public schools will begin on June 4.

According to Castil, Nocppo will deploy police personnel in every school in Negros Occidental.

This is to secure students who are most likely bringing with them brand new school supplies, like bags.

Castil also said parents must not to make their children bring to school valuable items – like gold earrings and cellular phones – that can be targets of lawless elements.

Students were also reminded not to go with people they do not know after classes.

Yesterday, the nationwide Brigada Eskwela 2018 began. It will end on June 2.

But the La Castellana National High School in La Castellana, Negros Occidental started the annual pre-school year cleanup activity as early as May 21.

The school aims to get the Hall of Fame award as the best brigada implementer in the national level./PN
