BACOLOD City – The series of arson attacks on heavy equipment in Negros Occidental these past few weeks could slow down government projects, especially in far-flung areas.

Negros Occidental provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said the torching of heavy equipment will cause delays in road construction, which in turn could affect the delivery of basic services to the people.

Diaz appealed to Negrenses to help maintain the province’s peace and stability.

Despite the attacks, Diaz believes the Philippine Army is still successful in its anti-insurgency drive.
