BACOLOD City – Negrense entrepreneurs raked in P40.6 million in total sales during the six-day Negros Trade Fair (NTF) in Makati City.

As of Sept. 30, the NTF reported P40,633,490 in sales and is still waiting for the sales report for the event’s last day.

“This year’s trade fair was a resounding success,” said Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

The 2022 trade fair recorded P39 million in sales and booked orders.

Some 108 featured booths sold Negrense-made food products, crafts, fashion, and homestyle items, among others.

“The event is the longest-running exhibition in the country of region-based small businesses,” Lacson said, encouraging all the exhibitors to continue innovating.

The 37th edition of the trade fair, initiated by the Association of Negros Producers (ANP), slated for Sept. 26 to Oct. 1, had the theme “Amuma,” a Hiligaynon term signifying “to nurture, foster, and care for.”

According to the ANP, the theme symbolizes the core values of the people of Negros Occidental./PN
