BACOLOD City – An 88-year-old man was found dead by a neighbor in the former’s house in Barangay 1, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
Jesus Gutual was already in a state of decomposition when found on the floor next to his bed at around 6 p.m. on Feb. 3.
Jay Ryan Dalumpines checked Gutual’s house after smelling foul odor emanating from there, he told the police.
Another neighbor, Chona Bocao, told the police they last saw Gutual alive on Feb. 2 repairing the roof of his nipa hut under the heat of the sun, and they even advised him to stop and rest.
Gutual was buried after his body was examined. Police concluded he died of natural causes and there was no foul play./PN
