ILOILO City – A 52-year-old man was shot to death in Barangay Palanguia, Pototan, Iloilo. The suspect was his nephew.
Land dispute led to the shooting of Jesus Pasino on Monday night, police said.
Pasino died of multiple gunshot wounds on the chest, waist and arms.
A 12-gauge shotgun was used on Pasino, police said, and they identified the suspect as Randy Porras, 40.
The shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. Pasino was binge drinking at the store of relative Marivic Porras, said Chef Inspector Bonifacio Alabe, Pototan police chief.
The suspect fled after the shooting. His whereabouts remained unknown as of this writing.
Policemen recovered three empty bullet shells of a 12-gauge shotgun.
“We are coordinating with family and relatives for the suspect’s peaceful surrender,” said Alabe.
Prior to the shooting, the uncle and nephew had a verbal confrontation, said Alabe. Porras put up a fence that closed the right of way to Pasino’s house.
“The suspect shot his uncle thrice. They had previous misunderstandings but those were amicably settled,” said Alabe.
The police will be filing a murder complaint against Porras./PN
