BACOLOD City – A nephew allegedly shot his uncle dead around 10 a.m. on Oct. 24 in Barangay Salong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the suspect as Leo Payag, 34, while the victim was Jimmy Tiaga Sr., 54, both residents of the said place.
According to Jenie Rose Tiaga, daughter of the victim, Payag shot her father several times using an unknown firearm.
The victim was brought to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital but was declared dead by the attending physician due to gunshot wounds to his arms and chest.
Police are still conducting a manhunt operation against Payag, who fled after the incident.
Authorities are yet to determine the motive of the killing./PN
