BACOLOD City – Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has named a new city administrator.
Lucille Gelvolea, Negros Occidental provincial government’s Economic Enterprise Division head, will be taking over the position left by Atty. Pacifico Maghari III a month ago.
She was named during a press conference yesterday, Nov. 28, at the Bacolod City Government Center.
Benitez has yet to issue the appointment order for the new city administrator because she is still processing her resign from the capitol.
But he said Gelvolea will assume the post tentatively on Dec. 1.
Last year, Gelvolea was a “pro bono” consultant for Special Projects and Economic Affairs of Benitez.
The mayor earlier hinted that the new city administrator is somebody with whom he can work closely together.
“I am a hands-on mayor, so I need somebody who can implement my programs properly,” Benitez said./PN
