BACOLOD City – The new satellite office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) located in Purok Paghida-et, Barangay Mansilingan has started to fully operate yesterday.
The old LTFRB office located along San Juan Street across the public plaza was closed since it cannot anymore accommodate the “growing demands” of its clients, said LTFRB regional director Richard Osmeña.
LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III led the blessing of the new LTFRB office in Mansilingan on Oct. 26. Osmeña and Councilor Ricardo Tan were there.
Osmeña said the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Bacolod Chapter gave them a spot inside a newly-renovated building.
The new office will operate with glass windows and closed-circuit television cameras to “eradicate corruption,” added Osmeña.
The LTFRB will use the office for 10 years, free of rental and electricity fees, he also said.
The LTFRB regional director said he will be in Bacolod every Thursday and Friday, adding that they will do their best to cater to transport groups and other clients in the city.
The new office, he said, would “translate to better services.”/PN
