BACOLOD City – Schoolchildren in Sitio Bugtong Lubi, Barangay Damutan, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental may use a new school building this coming school year, according to the Office of Vice President (OVP).
Pupils in Magsaysay Elementary School will no longer have to spend their days in makeshift classrooms, the OVP said in a press statement released on Wednesday.
“Through the Angat Buhay program … private partners have been linked to the local government unit of Hinoba-an for the construction of two new classroom buildings,” the office said.
The Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation and the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, according to the OVP, continue to be reliable partners in improving public education.
The Angat Buhay program also plans another partnership, this time to provide the school supply needs of the 115 pupils enrolled from preschool to Grade 6 in the same school, the OVP said.
Public education is one of the six pillars of the program, which aims to help schoolchildren from poor municipalities. (PNA)
