Angel Funeral Homes was founded by Angel Balolong Brillantes Jr. in 1975. He was born in Barotac Viejo and married to Maria Celga Sorongon Robles of Sta. Barbara. From sole proprietorship, the business was incorporated as Angel B. Brillantes Jr. Funeral Homes Inc. in 2010.
Angel Brillantes Jr.’s wife and four children are licensed embalmers.
His daughter Ancel holds an associate graduate of Mortuary Science from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in Manhattan, New York. She also passed the National Board Exam of Funeral Service in the United States of America (USA).
Both Ancel and Angel III received their training at the Fountain National Academy in Springfield, Missouri, one of the world’s best postmortem reconstructive surgery institutions.
The company is a member of the Philippine Embalmers and Undertakers Association Inc. and National Funeral Directors Association in the USA.
In 2000, the late founder received a Pasidungog award during the 110th Cry of Sta. Barbara and was also a frequent recipient of the Philippines Marketing Excellence Awards. He garnered awards in 2002 and 2004 to 2006. He was a service provider to local and national government entities, giving funeral help and humanitarian acts.
The company chose Iloilo as its first branch outside Mindanao due to the proprietors’ Ilonggo ancestry.
They have developed a strong presence in Mindanao and are eager to share their decades of professional knowledge and service with the residents of this region.
“My father’s dream is really to establish funeral homes in Iloilo,” according to her daughter Ancel. “He prospered in Mindanao, so he wants to give back to his hometown and birthplace.”
