New Numancia police station inaugurated

AKLAN – The newly-built Numancia Municipal Police Station (MPS) in the town’s Barangay Poblacion was inaugurated on Friday, June 7.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Jack Wanky and Numancia’s Mayor Jeserel Templonuevo led the inauguration of the three-story police station.

Also attending the event were Aklan Police Provincial Office director Colonel Victorino Romanillos Jr. and Engr. Gino Fernandez, representative of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Wanky thanked the stakeholders for their sacrifices, contributions and efforts in the construction of the police station in a 400-square meter lot donated by the Numancia municipal government of.

Sa lahat ng tumulong sa ating police station, maraming salamat sa inyong lahat. Sa ating mga police force, itong Numancia police station ay pag-aari ng lahat, kayo lamang ang mamamahala dito,” he added.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) earmarked P9.165 million for the completion of Numancia MPS to improve the responsiveness of the PNP in delivering law enforcement services, enhance the performance of police mandate and promote partnership with the community.

The construction program is in line with the “Golden Age of Infrastructure Development” of PNP in the country under the banner: “Ambisyon Natin 2040: Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Buhay Para sa Lahat”, or popularly known as the “Build, Build, Build” Program.
