ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) got 30 new patrol cars – 4×2 Toyota Hi-Lux – for better police mobility and response to emergencies.

According to PRO-6 director Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, the patrol cars were supplied by the national government in line with the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) capability enhancement program.

“These assets will add to the police’s visibility and response to crimes, among others. Policemen have no more reasons for not responding immediately,” said Dongbo on Tuesday.

The 30 patrol cars were for the police offices of the following:

* Aklan – two

* Antique – three

* Capiz – three

* Guimaras – two

* Iloilo province – four

* Bacolod City – 10

* Iloilo City – six

“You are very lucky to receive these mobility assets. Designated drivers, consider these as your own property and always ensure that these patrol cars are well-maintained,” said Dongbo.

He added: “This is a great help for us in attaining our mission – a safer Western Visayas to live, work and do business.”

Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director, Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero said the newly issued patrol cars will be issued to mobile forces and select police stations.

In Iloilo City, Police Station 1 chief, Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines said the new patrol car will replace their old patrol car.

“Ang aton daan nga patrol car standby lang sa isa ka lugar while ang aton bag-o magalibot,” Sangrines said./PN
