ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) received 19 new units of single cab 4×2 (Toyota Hi-Lux) patrol jeeps from the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
These would be utilized to strengthen the operational competence of municipal police stations in maintaining peace.
“We are happy for these additional patrol cars. These will boost our anti- crime efforts and patrolling system,” said Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, Western Visayas police director.
He led the turnover of the patrol jeeps yesterday.
PRO-6 Regional Pastoral Officer, Police Colonel Noel Ponsaran, officiated the blessing of the patrol cars in Camp Delgado.
“To the recipients of these patrol units, take care of these vehicle. Treat them as your own,” said Miranda.
The recipients were police stations of the following:
* Altavas, Banga, Ibajay, Lezo, Libacao, Makato, Malinao, Nabas, and Numancia in Aklan province;
* Pandan and Patnongon in Antique
* Calatrava, Hinigaran, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Murcia, Pontevedra, San Enrique, and Villadolid in Negros Occidental./PN
