ANTIQUE – The sixth pumping station of the Sibalom Water District (SWD) in Sibalom town is eyed to serve around 2,000 households with potable water.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the P5.4-million pumping station in District 4 was held on Wednesday, January 22. Its target completion is by April or May this year.
“The sixth pumping station could generate at least 1,500 cubic meters daily,” SWD general manager Jonathan De Gracia said yesterday.
He said with the fast economic growth and population in Sibalom, the first five pumping stations of the SWD are not enough to serve the needs of the households.
“The households in the nearby barangays of Ilabas, Catungan I, and Solong would mostly likely benefit from the pumping station,” he said.
The water district currently serves around 5,000 households in 17 barangays of Sibalom through its pumping stations in District 1 and barangays Nagdayao, Durog, Solong, and Panlagangan. (PNA)
