BACOLOD City – A newborn’s lower body part was found in Purok Masinulondon, Barangay Tabao Proper, Valladolid, Negros Occidental at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Valladolid municipal police said residents found the male newborn in the seashore with the umbilical cord still attached.
The initial assessment further showed that the newborn was left for only a few hours.
The police and personnel from the Municipal Health Office, the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development conducted a search operation but were not able to find the upper part of the newborn’s body.
Authorities are now working on the records of those who were pregnant and are scheduled to give birth within the week.
