“Most of the teams are from Negros Occidental. We have sent invites to other parts of the region but only the Iloilo Selection of coach Butchie Guzman agreed to participate,” he added.

Belangel further said that there will be 12 brackets in the entire Region 6 qualifiers and the top teams from each bracket will slug it out in the one-day playoffs on April 23.

The sYop 3 winners from the said one-day playoffs will play against the top three squads from Region 7 in another one-day competition in Cebu on May 3, Belangel said.

“This is a good opportunity for our Western Visayas-based players to showcase their talents to the scouts not just for the collegiate team but also for other leagues in Metro Manila,” Belangel said./PN
