NISSAN PHILIPPINES recently showed a whole new way of making Ilonggo customers experience first-hand a suite of technology features for easier and safer driving.
Enthusiasts joined the excursion of the brand’s latest innovations and exciting lineups at SM City Iloilo on March 3 to 5, 2023.
The Japanese automaker headed to Iloilo City for another leg of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) Tour.
Nissan’s new and advanced NIM technology is built into the Kicks e-POWER, Terra, Navara, Patrol, Livina, and Almera.
NIM Technology has integrated into the vehicle an Intelligent Around View Monitor (with moving object detection and off-road monitor), Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Rear View Mirror, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (with emergency braking), Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Intelligent Driver Alertness, among others.
For a better appreciation of Nissan vehicles integrated with these technologies, the tour had a tabletop simulator, booths with augmented reality tablets and a chance to go for test drives.
Particularly, Nissan’s Kicks e-Power uses a 100 percent electric motor-driven system, utilizing the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technology, with a gasoline engine to charge the high-voltage battery pack.
“Kicks e-Power is not your typical hybrid that runs on both electricity and gasoline. In this case, it runs primarily on pure electricity. It has a gas engine, but it is just for the generator for the battery,” said Antonio Mauricio, Jr., Nissan Philippines Assistant General Manager for Sales.
This innovation by Nissan offers the driving performance and benefits of an electric vehicle, yet eliminates the need for plug-in charging.
According to Nissan Iloilo Dealer Principal Ceazar Anthony Ang, “You just fuel up; si engine na ang bahala mag-charge sa battery,”
The Kicks e-Power is one of Nissan’s models that highlights the automaker’s Green Switch project for a cleaner society.
Mauricio further explained, “It takes out the anxiety. Compared to a pure electric vehicle which requires charging at home or going to charging stations, this is self-charging because of the gasoline generator for the battery,”
The Kicks e-Power also has vehicle dynamic control, an intelligent keyless system, a push start-stop system, a hill start assist, SRS airbags, and zero gravity seats.
Another wheel highlighted in the NIM Tour was the Nissan Terra Sport, which gives off more athletic vibes with its black chrome trimmings.
The Terra Sport 4×4 has the following features: 800mm water wading ability, zero gravity seats, SRS airbags, an 11-inch flip-down rear monitor, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, 2nd-row fold and tumble with a one-touch remote switch, flat-fold 2nd and 3rd-row seats, Bose premium speakers and 10 cup holders.
Other wheels showcased during the tour were the Nissan Navara (with one-ton payload capacity, speed-sensing door locks and an advanced display audio system with voice command), the Nissan Patrol (with an auto-dimming rear-view mirror with compass, a power sunroof and a front climate control seat), the Nissan Livina (with an anti-lock brake system and an internationally standardized car seat fitting system), and the Nissan Almera (with alarm and immobilizer and advanced drive-assist display)./PN
