THE New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) belied a supposed security advisory against the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from the US Department of Homeland Security, as it said online posts being circulated are showing old images.
In an advisory released on Sunday, April 6, the NNIC said it has communicated with the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and confirmed that there is no current travel advisory against NAIA, the main gateway to the Philippines.
“The advisory shown in the image was issued in December 2018 and was rescinded in August 2019… The image is outdated and was accidentally reposted by an airline. It has already been taken down,” the advisory read.
It added: “TSA conducts security assessments of NAIA every six months. The most recent assessment, in February 2025, showed major improvements and was the first since 2019 with no new findings.”
It inked a P170.6-billion concession agreement with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to take over NAIA in March 2024, after it offered the highest share of its future revenues from operating the gateway to the government. (GMA Integrated News)
