KALIBO, Aklan – No illegal drugs were found at the Aklan Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in this town during the simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation (SACLEO) on April 23, 2022.
The SACLEO in ARC at Barangay Nalook was launched by Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 6, Criminal Intelligence and Detection Unit-Aklan, Kalibo Municipal Police Station, Aklan Trackers Team, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Police Major Willian Aguirre, deputy chief of the Aklan Provincial Intelligence Unit, said the joint operation was conducted to clear the facility of smuggled contrabands and illegal drugs and to check on the conditions of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in ARC.
Confiscated were three sets of playing cards, three disposable lighters, two ball pens, manicuring tools, three guitar strings, and three razor blades in 12 lock-up cells.
āAll PDLs were well disciplined and the facility has closed circuit televisions (CCTvs) for maximum security,ā he added.
No illegal drugs or firearms were recovered.
Aguirre said no āorganized gangsā have been identified that might threaten the peace and order inside the ARC./PN
