ILOILO – The leadership change at the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) won’t hamper the campaign against illegal drugs, declared Senior Superintendent Harold Tuzon, new police provincial director.
“To the best of my ability, I accept the challenge,” he said during yesterday’s change of command at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) in Camp Delgado, Iloilo City.
Prior to his IPPO assignment, Tuzon was PRO-6’s regional operations chief.
Tuzon swapped posts with Senior Superintendent Roderick Augustus Alba of the IPPO.
Tuzon said he would give equal attention to the campaign against illegal gambling, insurgency and other illegal activities.
He vowed to continue the programs and projects of Alba and review the performance of police chiefs across the province, most especially in the drive against drug trafficking.
Tuzon confirmed meeting with Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. on Sunday. He said the governor reminded him not to engage in illegal activities.
“I assured the good governor that I’m contented with my salary,” said Tuzon.
He said Defensor reminded him to sustain the drive against all illegal activities.
Tuzon appealed for the public’s support.
Aside from Alba, the police directors of Guimaras and Antique were also revamped. Senior Superintendent Louis Garong of Antique exchanged posts with Senior Superintendent Leo Irwin Agpangan of Guimaras.
The swapping was based on the approved memorandum of the Philippine National Police national headquarters to reinvigorate the PRO-6’s Oplan Double Barrel against illegal drugs.
Chief Superintendent Jose Gentiles, regional police, director, led the turnover of command yesterday./PN
