No new police chief for Isabela yet – Noppo

Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr. PCR NOPPO

BACOLOD City – No one seems willing to be assigned as the new chief of police in Isabela, Negros Occidental.

Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo), said he already approached two qualified officers to replace Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito as the town’s police head but the two begged off.

Castil said he wants to keep the reasons of the two police officers confidential.

Last month, Isabela mayor Joselito Malabor sent Castil a letter requesting a new police chief in the town.

Malabor said he wants a police chief who has his “trust and confidence” and can step up the municipal police station’s antidrug and anticrime campaign.

In another letter, Malabor requested Castil to designate Chief Inspector Romeo Salvador, who is currently assigned in Luzon, to replace Pajarito.

The mayor said there is a “very low” number of apprehensions in Isabela.

He added that Pajarito, having many relatives in the town, cannot perform his duty well.

Currently, Pajarito continues to serve as the town’s police chief.

He told Panay News that he has no issues with the local government or with Malabor./PN
