MANILA – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured the public on Saturday that there would be no price increases of prime and basic commodities as well as noche buena items until next year.
“Hindi na ‘yan gagalaw until next year, we promise you that,” said DTI undersecretary Ruth Castelo.
Castelo said they have required manufacturers to commit to a fixed price throughout the holiday season. This is to ensure that Filipino families would not be burdened with higher prices during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“So kung ano ‘yung nasa noche buena SRP (suggested retail price) that we published on Oct. 30, ito na ‘yung hanggang next year,” she said.
She also urged the public to be aware of product SRPs. Consumers may download the DTI app e-Presyo to check prevailing prices and SRPs of commodities. (ABS-CBN News)
