No room for women discrimination — Guimaras guv

GUIMARAS – Women in the Province of Guimaras are not marginalized, according to Gov. JC Rahman A. Nava during the Women’s Forum held yesterday, March 9.

The governor emphasized that in Guimaras, women are well-represented in politics and their roles are recognized.

The majority of capitol employees are women, he added.

Nava also assured the continued advancement of women’s rights through the gender and development advocacy of the provincial government and the Kabataan FIRST agenda, which promotes a resilient socioeconomic movement for the future of Guimaras through Focused tourism, trade, investment, and employment; Integrated infrastructure development; Responsive healthcare and social welfare and development services; Sustainable economy; and Trusted fiscal and bureaucratic management.

The women’s forum organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office is in line with the celebration of National Women’s Month with a new recurring theme from this year to 2028: “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.”

The forum was attended by 100 women from the five municipalities of the province who are members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI), a non-political, non-profit organization that promotes women’s development and empowerment.

Couple Clint and Leanne Jurisprudencia of GODUCATE (Go and Educate), a non-profit organization dedicated to working closely with the poor communities in Asia to create a sustainable society, served as resource speakers. (With a report from Guimaras PIO)/PN
