BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOCPPO) said they are now ready to ensure safe and orderly May 13 elections in the province.
NOCPPO director Colonel Romeo Baleros said around 3,251security forces composed of police and military officers were deployed in various areas in Negros Occidental.
The send-off ceremony was held at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in this capital city on May 6.
Baleros said the 1,855 personnel deployed to voting centers and 1,396 personnel designated as Quick Response Force will ensure tight security measures during the poll period.
Police Regional Office 6 deputy director for administration Brigadier General Jesus Cambay Jr. meanwhile reminded the personnel to always follow police operational procedures cited on the Commission on Election’s guidelines.
“We geared up towards attaining our five objectives – no harassment to stations, no ambush on troops, no liquidations, no acts of terrorism and no election related violent incidents,” he said
Cambay also urged the security forces to always pray for the success of this major event./PN
