BACOLOD City – Nearly 600 police officers have been deployed across Negros Occidental as part of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office’s (NOCPPO) Oplan Summer Vacation (SumVac) 2025.
Colonel Rainerio M. De Chavez, director of NOCPPO, said this deployment will augment the regular police force at various stations, maintaining standard operations as well as ensuring the security of both domestic and international tourists expected to visit the province.
“These cops will guarantee the safety of residents and tourists during the extended holiday period, which includes the observance of Semana Santa from April 14 to April 20, 2025,” De Chavez added.
Moreover, 278 police assistance desks (PADs) have been established in recreational areas, religious sites, terminals, ports, and other crowded locations. De Chavez will lead an inspection team to assess the readiness of police officers manning the PADs.
Beat patrollers and undercover police were also deployed to enhance security coverage.
NOCPPO added that to manage traffic, road safety marshals and traffic personnel are stationed on major roads, and force multipliers are mobilized.
The province police force further urged the public to remain vigilant this Holy Week and summer vacations and immediately report any suspicious activities./PN
