BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) is keeping an eye on four of the six suspects in the disappearance of six sabungeros or cockfighting enthusiasts.

Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, NOCPPO spokesperson, said yesterday morning that the four from Negros Occidental were Mark Carlo Zabala, Roberto Matillano Jr., Johnry Consolacion, and Virgilio Bayog.

NOCPPO has already alerted the police stations in the cities of Himamaylan, Kabankalan and Talisay, and the towns of Binalbagan and Hinigaran – either birth places or last know addresses of the four.

Catalogo said they have an automatic database that once the national police headquarters issues a wanted bulletin, all police units will be alerted nationwide.

NOCPPO is also coordinating with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for the arrest of the four suspects.

However, the NOCPPO spokesperson said the four may have already left the province either shortly or after the wanted poster was released.

In the event that the four are tracked down and arrested in Negros Occidental, they will immediately be transported to Metro Manila to face their charges, Catalogo said.

On Friday, Feb. 17, the Philippine National Police released the pictures of six wanted persons suspected in the disappearance of six sabungeros in January of last year.

Aside from the four Negrenses, also wanted were Julie “Dondon” Patidongan and Gleer “Gler Cudilla” Codilla.

Each suspect has a bounty of P1 million on their head for any information on their whereabouts that may lead to their arrest./PN
