MANILA – Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) and Iloilo Football Association (Iloilo FA) cruised to separate wins in the PFF U19 Boys National Championship First Division on Wednesday.
NOFA notched its second win in as many games after a 5-1 win over Southeast Luzon Masbate RFA (SELMARFA) over at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
NOFA opened the scoring at the 30th minute on a conversion by Chris Valderama. It was doubled early in the second half via a 57th minute hit by Marc Alipon.
SELMARFA managed to pull one back at the 62nd minute courtesy of a goal by Karl Absalon but NOFA quickly restored the two-goal lead with a conversion from Jerome Aligora.
Aligora completed his brace at the 82nd minute. He scored past the defense of SELMARFA before Adam Abela wrapped up the victory for NOFA with a 90th minute hit.
NOFA will aim for its third consecutive victory this afternoon against Cordillera RFA, which suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of National Capital Region FA.
Iloilo FA claimed its first win in Group B after a 2-0 win over Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog FA (ZANDIFA) over at Tionko Football Grounds in Davao City, Davao del Sur.
Selwyn Mamon notched the advantage for the Ilonggos with his conversion at the 36th minute mark.
ZANDIFA attempted to equalize but unable to have a decent attempt before Iloilo FA wrapped up the victory on a 53rd minute goal of Archie Belluga.
Iloilo FA, currently with four points on one win and a draw, hopes to continue its winning ways today against Davao-South RFA, which bowed to SOCSARGEN RFA last Wednesday, 1-0./PN
