PONTEVEDRA, Capiz – Pontevedra police seized a total of 17 open-pipe motorcycle mufflers in various operations this October.
The confiscation of illegal mufflers is in accordance with Municipal Ordinance No. 91 CY2018.
Pontevedra police chief Major Cristopher Candelario said loud mufflers disturbed the residents especially those who are living near the national highways.
Candelario appealed to the public to report to the police those owners of motorcycles with open-pipe mufflers and motor shops illegally modifying motorcycle parts specifically the mufflers.
Under the Municipal Ordinance No. 91 CY2018, violators are issued a traffic citation ticket and mufflers are confiscated. All seized mufflers must also be destroyed./PN
